In the A.R.C., autonomous robotic cell, one Motoman robot positions parts for one or more additional process robots, eliminating the need for complex part fixtures and positionsers. According to the company, multiple-station processing allows parts to be completed within one workcell, and speeds throughput by eliminating transfer time.
Also on display will be the inverted-mount U50 robot from a servo-controlled overhead rail that is said to save floor space and improve access to two lathes durng tool changes, and the UP20 robot wall-mounted from a servo gallows to provide the extended reach needed to tend three boring and tapping machine tools.
